The Virginia Outdoor Writers Association (VOWA) enthusiastically welcomes individualas who work in our field of outdoor communications.  By becoming part of our group, you will become part of an exceptional circle of colleagues with a fine tradition - since 1963 - of writing excellence and artistic expression about Virginia’s magnificent outdoors.

Additional benefits include invitations to meetings and/or conferences, newsletters, craft improvement events, periodic updates about member accomplishments, and exciting seasonal activities. These events provide the opportunity to explore many of the natural areas of our Commonwealth, and always include storytelling and learning opportunities  - as well as time for relaxing on nearby rivers or hiking in forest and field.

Most importantly, you will come to value the special friendships that result from joining a network of professionals who all share a passion for the outdoors.  Members learn from each other and make valuable contacts that aid in career development.

In lieu of membership fees, we ask that group members considering donating to support the operational costs of the organization. Virginia Outdoor Writers Association is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, and all donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.
